How Have Some People Come To Think of The Health Care Reform Bill As If It Were Harmless?
Politicians are very good at propaganda. Some politicians will gladly tell you what you want to hear in order to ramrod a particular imperative into law. If they have to pull the wool over your eyes, that is just par for the course. When it comes to discussing the Health Care Reform Bill, flat-out lying is certainly on the menu.
The central issue is this: The Health Care Reform Bill, as written, will be the biggest government takeover in United States history.
Think about what the government already has its grubby paws into. The United States Postal Service is run by the government. It is 6 billion in the hole after raising the price on stamps year after year. The Amtrak passenger service is run by the government. It is 1.5 billion in the hole, receiving money from the government year after year. It is one of the most inefficient train services on the face of the earth. Why would anyone want to trust government with health care? Only people who have had an overdose of propaganda.
Lie number one: It does not discriminate against old people.
Big lie! Old folks (any one over 65) will be required to go to death counseling, to figure out your death plan every 5 years, whether you want it or not. Old folks lose one half trillion right off the bat (the government will suck one half trillion from medicare to put it into the health care monster waiting on the horizon). The socialists want to suck a half trillion from medicare in spite of the fact it is scheduled to go bankrupt in 4 years. Look at Canada, France and the UK. No matter what is coming out of the politicians' mouths, rationing is an inescapable imperative of the Health Care Reform Bill.
Lie number two: Health Care Reform will bring down costs.
Big lie! The Congressional Budget Office has called them on this game. A trillion dollars to jump start this boondoggle is just the beginning. Government has not brought down costs in Medicare. How do they expect to do it in the new bureaucracy? Answer: They don't. But they will lie in order to spring this nightmare on the public. Government run health control will be an albatross around our necks for years to come. It is, in fact, a Trojan horse to implement Big Brother and Tax Brother and Control Brother to put the squeeze on the common man (the one who is subject to taxation without representation).
Here is an idea: Instead of destroying everyone's health care in the name of universal service, how about regulating the prices downward? Outlaw the five dollar aspirin. Outlaw the ten dollar band-aid. Outlaw the nickel and dime price gouging that the hospital victim is subject to. Outlaw overpriced drugs. That way we wouldn't need to go to foreign countries to get our drugs for 70 percent less. Prevent price gouging in the medical profession just as we would prevent someone from price gouging while selling ice after a hurricane. After all, both are emergencies. Of course, that is not going to happen. Why? It's because Washington DC has become a sewer pipe for corruption. The majority of congress members are regular recipients of a steady stream of bribes from the medical lobbies, the insurance lobbies, the hospital lobbies, the drug lobbies, and, of course, the most corrupt of all, the AMA, the self-serving American Medical Association. With all these lobbies packing into the congressional offices, you and I go to the back of the line. That's fine. Just don't let them stuff this Big Brother imperative down your throat. If you do, the indigestion could kill you while you're hanging out in the waiting room for your government assigned primary care physician.
Read the Health Care Reform Bill.
It is loaded with rules and a huge dose of Big Brother.
Lie number three: You will not lose your present health care.
Big lie! Government has the power to stack the deck in their favor by raising taxes, levying fines, requiring endless paperwork, requiring impossible certifications, auditing good health plans over and over, and flat-out shutting them down.*

*Some might say: the government would never shut down a company because of competition. Oh, really? Let's draw a parallel. Almost one year before the financial meltdown, the FBI raided the offices of Liberty Dollar, a business currency that was backed up by gold and silver. For years the Federal Reserve and the Treasury had been telling the officers of Liberty Dollar, "We don't care about what you're doing." However, when they realized that financial collapse was going to occur in a year (in the fall of 2008), they decided they really did care. The criminal case and the counter-suits are still in court. The Federal Reserve did not want the Liberty Dollar to be the alternate currency, as the Yankee dollar slowly goes down the toilet. The government will gladly wipe out competition when and where they see it.
Look at it from a behavior point of view. Liberty Dollar practiced good behavior, implementing a currency for their fellow humans, a currency that was backed up by gold and silver. What reward did they get? Their offices were raided, their currency was taken, and the facility that housed the back up silver was also raided. Yes, the silver was confiscated by the FBI. The FBI still has not returned what they have stolen in the name of competition. The officers of Liberty Dollar have mounting legal expenses to fight the government bureaucrats in court. It was over two months before the government could figure out what trumped-up charge they would try to nail them for. For more details of the case, go to libertydollar.com. You won't believe this happened in a so-called free country.
What reward did the Federal Reserve get for its bad behavior, sending in the FBI to persecute innocent people? After the financial meltdown, the government provided them with hundreds of billions of your dollars. You will not be getting that money back.
You should be determined to keep informed and don't let the politicians pull the wool over your eyes.
