Behavior Proactive Approach

What is the behavior proactive approach?

The behavior proactive approach is, of course, to apply a proactive pattern of behavior control as opposed to a reactive pattern.

Do not waste time doing functional assessments or analyses unless the motive for the behavior is a mystery.

Do not do formal written programming when non-formal non-written programming will do the job. The staff are generally better at understanding and remembering non-formal programs and are usually more adaptable when the need arises to modify them quickly. Time that may have been wasted in writing programs can be used in monitoring the staff in implementing the non-formal programs.

These non-formal programs can be up and running much quicker and can provide a more dynamic behavior change pattern than the traditional methods.

These non-formal programs can, of course, eventually be written up into formal programs after there is a prognosis of success for the behavior techniques being used. If there is a prognosis of failure or little success, then obviously there would be no need to formalize the program. In this way we can avoid wasting time writing programs before seeing them in action.
