What Is The Mark of The Beast?
We know that 666 is the number of the beast. What is the mark of the beast? What is this mark that goes into the right hand or the forehead (Revelation 13:16-17) that will permit people to buy and sell?
Believe it or not, it is not as mysterious as people would have you believe!

You may have heard that the mark of the beast will be an electronic implant on your hand that will act like a credit card. This is not the mark! This is simply a tracking system that will be implemented due to the unrelenting problems with terrorism, security, and big brother syndrome. Think about that for a minute. If you believe the mark is a physical thing put into your hand, then you would have to think that God has no mercy on humans. Those who have the mark of the beast will suffer a terrible sore on their body (Revelation 16:2). Someone could force you to accept an implant in your hand if the mark of the beast were a physical thing that was put on your body. Don't allow yourself to be deceived as to what the mark of the beast is. Too much is at stake!
It is not difficult to understand. All we really need to know is that a
sign is a mark and a mark is a sign and if we find out what the mark or sign of God is then we know the opposite will be the mark or sign of the beast. We are told to bind God's commandments upon our fingers and upon the tables of our heart (Proverbs 7:2-3).
Most of the time the heart is spoken of in the scripture, it is not speaking of the heart that pumps blood. It is speaking of the center of the mind, the controller, the judgment. Where in the brain is that part of the mind located. It is in the forehead.
The feast of unleavened bread is a "...
sign unto you upon your hand, and for a memorial between your eyes..." (Exodus 13:9). Why? "...that the LORD'S law may be in your mouth..." (same verse)."...between your eyes...." Where is that located? Between your eyes is, of course, in your forehead!
The Sabbath is a
sign between the children of Israel and God (Exodus 31:13 and 31:17). What is the mark or sign and where is the mark or sign located? We should teach the Ten Commandments to our children.
"And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in your heart. And you shall teach them diligently unto your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up" (Deuteronomy 6:6-7).
And where are the commandments located?
"And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes" (verse 8).
In other words, the commandments should be in your hand and between your eyes, in your forehead!
The keeping of the Ten Commandments (including the Sabbath command) is the
mark or sign which is located upon your hand and as frontlets between your eyes (Deuteronomy 6:6-8). In other words, the mark is on your hand and in your forehead! But isn't this just for Israel? Wasn't the law of God abolished by Christ? No. It applies to us if we are Christians. "If you [be] Christ's, then are you Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise" (Galations 3:29).
"He that says, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him" (1 John 2:4).
So what is the
mark of the Beast? The beast will "...think to change times and laws..." (Daniel 7:25). The beast will be opposed to the Ten Commandments and especially the Sabbath. He will hate the Sabbath. He will be anti-nomian (anti-law) and his mark will be disobedience to God and disobedience to the Sabbath command. This is the attitude that will be in the forehead of his followers. And this attitude will be implemented by what they do (their occupation -- what they set their hands to do).God gives us the
mark of God (the keeping of the Ten Commandments and the Sabbaths) in the hand and forehead."And hallow my Sabbaths and they shall be a
sign between me and you, that you may know that I [am] the LORD your God" (Ezekiel 20:20).The Bible refers to Christians as saints.
So the
mark of the beast is simple. It is the opposite of the mark of God. God honors effort. Obedience to God and his sabbaths constitute the mark of God. Disobedience to the commandments of God and profaning the Sabbaths constitute the mark of the beast. But didn't Christ change the Sabbath to Sunday? No. Christ is the Son of man who brings us to the light (John 12:34) and the Son of man is the Lord of the Sabbath (Matthew 12:8, Mark 2:28, Luke 6:5).Don't let peer pressure hinder you from having a true and lasting relationship with your Creator through your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
"Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus" (Revelation 14:12). Keep the
mark of God and you will not have to accept the mark of the beast.-- wilyelder
